ABOUT THE BLOG

Dear Tzoharites, alumni, friends, family, supporters, and teachers,

Welcome to the official Tzohar Israel Trip 2017 Blog!

The vision of this blog was to be a mosaic of girls' artwork, writing, thoughts, and experiences that meld together into one creative representation of our two week trip. Along the process of creating the blog, I realized how powerful this mode of documentation is because it portrays each girl's personal experience of the trip. We are all so different and filter life through a unique lens.  For example, the blind museum touched a different chord in each girl. One girl said that the experience taught her to appreciate all the things in her life while another found relinquishing control to be incredibly liberating and spiritual.

In other words, this trip could not be recorded in a black and white way, but demanded an acknowledgement of each unique story. Every girl is a world, and each of those worlds, though spinning in the same orbit of mutual experience, shines independently on this blog.

I also hope that this blog will serve as a storage for our personal memories in some way - that in years from now we will read a few pages and be reminded of the good times we had together, though still warmed by the friendships and lessons that we will carry with us forever.

Enjoy!
